Crash and Impact are events with short time duration that require the use of explicit analysis to capture the effects of momentum. At Calcate, our engineers have decades of experience in performing crash and impact analysis in products that range from a vehicle hitting a barrier, a bird hitting an aircraft to a consumer product dropping from a table.
The analysis of crash and impact presents many unique challenges, including highly non-linear materials, short durations, complex boundaries, special materials (birds, water, composites), and multi-stage loading. Our engineers have the knowledge and experience to gather the required data, set up complex models, and load cases using leading-edge commercial software. We then post-process the results to obtain the critical information needed to meet the desired performance and regulatory standards.

At Calcate we have expertise in bird strike analysis for the aerospace industry, on structures including fuselage, wings, radome, windows, and engines using commercial software. Our bird strike analysis capabilities include :
